They have a wealth of experience working in both specialist treatment units and within the community. Neuropsychology Team
Dr Andrew Harrison
Andrew has assessed and treated individuals and families living with neurological injury and illness since qualification in 1997. He worked in a charitable hospital for patients with neuro disability in London (1997-2000) and a national NHS neurorehabilitation service (2000-2013) before moving to work in the private sector.
He is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and he is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). He is entered on the British Psychological Society’s Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN) and the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (BPS). Dr Mari O'Neill
Consultant Clinical Psychologist
Mari has specialised in neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation since obtaining her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2011. She worked in a charitable hospital for patients with acquired brain injury and challenging behaviour in Northampton (2011 – 2016). She then worked in a private hospital for patients with acquired brain injury and progressive neurological conditions (2016 – 2017), and within residential and community settings in the East Midlands delivering neurobehavioural rehabilitation for adults with acquired brain injury (2017 – 2019), before moving to Scotland to work in the private sector in 2019. She is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist (British Psychological Society) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She is on the Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (BPS) and is an Associate Fellow of the BPS. Her CV is available on request.
Dr Louise Young
Consultant Clinical Psychologist
Louise qualified with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Edinburgh in 2015. She has worked in a range of neuropsychology and related settings in NHS Scotland, including post-acute neurorehabilitation, acute neurosciences, and community neurorehabilitation. She began her career as a Trainee Clinical Psychologist with NHS Lothian, focusing on substance misuse (2011 – 2014). She then worked as a Clinical Psychologist in NHS Lothian, specialising in clinical neuropsychology (2014 – 2022). She further advanced her career as clinical lead for FND (Functional Neurological Disorders) referrals in a clinical health psychology service. She is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist (British Psychological Society) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). Her CV is available on request.
Dr Emma Williams
Associate Clinical Psychologist
Emma obtained her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2013 from the University of Edinburgh. She worked as a Clinical Psychologist in Neuropsychology for the Community Rehabilitation and Brain Injury Service and provided psychology services to inpatient stroke units across NHS Lothian (2013 – 2014). She has worked as Lead Clinical Psychologist for the Community Rehabilitation and Brain Injury Service in NHS Lothian since 2014. Her interests include functional neurological disorders, trauma and stroke. Emma has completed accredited training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. Dr Nicole Paterson
Associate Clinical Psychologist
Nikki is a qualified Clinical Psychologist with wide-ranging experience working across the age range, with a specific interest in brain injury rehabilitation.
She has worked as Principal Clinical Psychologist for NHS and Clinical Psychologist at Criminal Injuries Compensation Agency. She is currently Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Brainkind. She has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from University of Glasgow; MSc Clinical Neuropsychology (with distinction) from University of Glasgow; B.A (Hons) Natural Sciences from University of Cambridge and is registered with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and British Psychological Society (BPS). Dr Bogna Radlak
Associate Clinical Psychologist
Bogna is a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) since obtaining her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2017.
.She has worked within the Neuropsychology Services in the NHS and more recently in the Private Sector settings, specialising in neuropsychological assessment, rehabilitation and adjustment therapy to acute and chronic neurological conditions. Her CV is available on request.
Occupational Therapy Team
Naomi Bidwell
Naomi is a qualified Occupational Therapist who began her career working in the NHS. The majority of Naomi’s experience has been in rehabilitation of adults with neurological impairment within the inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation setting. Naomi has been involved in vocational rehabilitation, teaching and education of other professionals and was active as an occupational therapy steward for Unison during her time in the NHS.
Naomi continued her training within the specialist field, having attained the Post Graduate Certificate in Brain Injury Rehabilitation in 2010. Naomi is state registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council and is also a member of The British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT).
Kirsten Galloway
Kirsten qualified as an Occupational Therapist in 1992 and has worked in a variety of rehabilitation units gaining experience in both in-patient and community-based settings. Kirsten has worked in neurological rehabilitation with brain and spinal cord injured clients. Kirsten also has extensive experience in preparing a variety of medico-legal reports: Immediate Needs Reports, Future and Past Care Reports, Accommodation reports, Loss of Services reports and Case Management reports. Kirsten maintains her professional registration and Continuous Professional Development in line with the guidelines given by the HCPC. She is state registered with HCPC and a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT).
Louise Cownie
Louise is a specialist occupational therapist with over 14 years of experience in spinal cord injury rehabilitation. She works at the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit, where she manages a complex caseload of patients and supervises rotational staff and students. She also has a background in lecturing and research, having taught at Glasgow Clyde College and participated in several projects on spinal cord injury, functional electrical stimulation, and clinical effectiveness. She holds a first-class honours degree in occupational therapy with psychology from Glasgow Caledonian University. She is state registered with HCPC and a member of the British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT).
Louise Seawright
Louise is a qualified Occupational Therapist at the Community Treatment Centre for Brain Injury in Glasgow. She specialises in client-centred care for individuals with brain injuries, focusing on rehabilitation and community re-integration. Louise has extensive experience in both CAMHS and in-patient brain injury rehabilitation.
Dedicated to professional development, Louise has completed specialist training in neurological practice and is a member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) Specialist Section in Neurological Practice. She has also contributed to research and presented at conferences, underscoring her commitment to evidence-based practice. Louise is registered with the HCPC.
Physiotherapy Team
Shikha Zalpuri Kapila
Shikha is a Neuro Physiotherapist with experience in neurological, musculoskeletal and long-term rehabilitation. Shikha completed her degree in Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2002 and has worked in various multidisciplinary setups in Delhi, India. Shikha has also worked as a Case Manager since 2014 and has experience of clients suffering from brain injury, orthopaedic injuries, spinal injuries, musculoskeletal injuries and she has also worked on paediatric and geriatric cases. Shikha uses her knowledge of physical disability to support clients, particularly those with complex physical issues.
Susan Gilhespie
Susan qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2002 and since then has continued to work within the NHS, initially rotating between specialities such as Orthopaedics, Medical, Amputee Rehabilitation, Neurology and Neurosurgery. During this time, she developed an interest in rehabilitation, particularly in those with neurological deficit. Since 2007 Susan has worked as a Specialist Physiotherapist in the Queen Elizabeth National Spinal Injuries Unit in Glasgow, where she continues to work with those who have sustained spinal cord injury. This work takes individuals from the acute stages of injury, through rehabilitation until discharge back into the community. Susan is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
Speech & Language Team
Jill Grieve
Speech and Language Therapist
Jill qualified as a Speech and Language Therapist in 2006 and has worked in a variety of adult neurological contexts in both in-patient and community based settings. Jill is experienced in working with adults with acquired brain injury, traumatic brain injury, and those with spinal cord injuries. The majority of Jill’s experience has been working in adult neurological rehabilitation supporting clients to achieve their optimum language, communication and swallowing ability. Jill is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is also a member of the Royal College of Speech Language Therapists (RSCLT).
